Sunday, October 18th , 2015
He may have less experience than most of his BSBL Double A peers, but that didn't slow Daniel Martínez down at all in 2015.
At the age of 23, the El Paso center fielder has been named the winner of the Pioneer AA Outstanding Hitter Award.
He had a .299 batting average and a .378 on-base percentage this year. In 136 games he piled up 147 hits, 37 doubles, 4 triples, 21 home runs, 67 RBIs and 80 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 24. Justin Jones of the Texarcana Hilljacks finished second in voting with 11 first place votes, while Zach Starks of the Helena Handbaskets finished third.
