Johnson Shuts Out Peoria, 3-0 Wednesday, August 14th , 2013 Steve Johnson of the Little Rock Diamonds was on fire against the Peoria Paratroopers at Paratroopers Ballpark today. He shut them out 3-0 on 5 hits, collecting 7 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks. "The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Johnson said later. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that." So far this season, Johnson has logged a 5-9 record with a 3.57 ERA. He has started 25 games, hurled 146.1 innings and registered 164 strikeouts and 33 walks. View Boxscore |
