El Paso Blanks Duluth Behind Juárez
Saturday, June 18th , 2016
In an outstanding mound performance, El Paso Diablos starter Carlos Juárez fired a complete-game shutout against the Duluth Dukes at Aristocrats Ballpark.
Juárez was the key to the 1-0 El Paso win. The 23-year-old right-hander was in high spirits for much of the game, his mood largely unfazed by the 4 hits and 1 walk he allowed.
"4 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter, as long as it was a shutout."
Currently Juárez has a 4-6 won-lost record in 13 starts with a 4.98 ERA. He also has 97 strikeouts in 86.2 innings.
