Monday, October 15th , 2012
He may have less experience than most of his BSBL Double A peers, but that didn't slow Seiichi Nakano down at all in 2012.
At the age of 23, the Bakersfield second baseman has been named the winner of the Pacific AA Outstanding Hitter Award.
He had a .276 batting average and a .343 on-base percentage this year. In 117 games he piled up 102 hits, 15 doubles, 3 triples, 22 home runs, 61 RBIs and 53 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 24. Francisco Ramírez of the Vernon Comets finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Shawn Curry of the Ontario Beavers finished third with 7 first place votes.
