Davidson Sharp in 7-0 Shutout
Wednesday, July 6th , 2016
The Peoria Paratroopers shut out the El Paso Diablos, 7-0, behind the strong pitching of Glenn Davidson. Davidson surrendered only 2 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 15.
Following the last out, Davidson appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for El Paso manager , who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Davidson's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart.
The Diablos skipper would not comment on the exchange but, at the Paratroopers press conference, Davidson confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.
"He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Davidson said.
"And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Peoria manager added.
Thus far this season, Davidson has worked 107.2 innings with 129 strikeouts en route to a 7-5 record and a 1.84 ERA.
