Maitland Swings Ironhorse to 7-1 Win
|
The Sacramento Ironhorse beat the Long Beach Ports, 7-1, at Ironhorse Stadium. Alan Maitland went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The former first round draft pick was a menace to Long Beach all day. Sacramento, now 8-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.
With Sacramento trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Maitland hit a fastball from Kyle Arnold for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Ironhorse ahead, 3-1.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Maitland told the Sacramento Today.
