Garza Helps Silver Sox Defeat Cowboys, 12-6
The Reno Silver Sox beat the Austin Cowboys, 12-6, at Clark Field. Reno left fielder Manuel Garza had the hot bat. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. The Silver Sox raised their record to 7-7.

Reno won the game in part because of Jesús Salcido. The center fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Silver Sox ahead, 3-0. For the game, Salcido had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.

Reno manager Zach Ames was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
