The Dallas Eagles downed the New Orleans Pelicans, 8-5, at Higgins Park. Jorge Vázquez led the way, going 2-for-3 for Dallas. Richard Miller was the winner. He's now 2-0. The loser was Ronnie Gordon. So far, the 2015 season has been disappointing for New Orleans, now 6-8.

Jordan Schoe had a big 2-run home run for the Eagles in the top of the third inning. With Dallas leading 4-3 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 35-year old right-handed pitcher Ronnie Gordon and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Eagles on top, 6-3.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Vázquez said. "We did a good job of that today."
