Long Beach got a terrific performance from pitcher Jorge Rodríguez, but it wasn't enough to beat the San Bernardino Stallions. San Bernardino won the Tapatio Park contest, 4-2. Rodríguez threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Bob Clifton picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 1-2. Picking up his 2nd save was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Thompson.
Troy Frazier came through with a big-time hit for San Bernardino. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
In postgame remarks, Frazier hailed his team's "single-minded focus."
San Bernardino goes to 6-7.
