Ray Tate had a good game, but he could not keep the Portland Beavers from falling, 7-6, to the Long Beach Ports at Tapatio Park. The Portland shortstop went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once in the loss. Jim Rogers picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Rory Anderson was tagged with the loss. The Beavers drop to 8-8 and continue their mediocre start to the 2015 season.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Long Beach pinch hitter Matt Oster, facing Rory Anderson, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Ports the 7-6 win.
