Millers Pick Up 4-2 Road Win Over Reno
|
Ed Beck, who finished 5th in the CL in ERA with 2.76 in 2011, pitched well, but the Reno Silver Sox still fell short, losing, 4-2, to the Minneapolis Millers at Alamo Park. Picking up his 1st save was 33-year old right-handed pitcher Darwin Madden. For the Silver Sox, the loss makes their record 7-11.
Minneapolis used the timely hitting of Jorge Bruno to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Millers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Minneapolis manager Bob T commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
