Yetis Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Homer Yetis had to overcome a big game from Austin first baseman Bradley O'Harly to leave Clark Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-6. O'Harly was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs. The winning pitcher was four-time All-Star Orlando García. He tossed 88 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 5 runs on 8 hits. The Yetis have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 6th win in 18 games.
In the top of the third, Homer third baseman Dan Koch had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Koch stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-0, Homer. For the game, he went 1-4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Koch, "but we got it done."
