Seals Use Late Score to Top Angels, 5-4
|
Wrigley Field was the site of a competitive game between the Los Angeles Angels and San Francisco Seals.
The San Francisco Seals beat the Los Angeles Angels, 5-4, at Wrigley Field. The win was due in part to third baseman Mario Padilla, who went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winner was Edgardo Morín in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Clyde Overcash took the loss.
Padilla had a timely hit for San Francisco in the top of the eighth. With San Francisco trailing 4-3, he turned a 2-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 5-4, San Francisco.
Padilla attributed the win to "an all-around good team performance."
The loss makes the Angels 8-13.
