Luis Peña impressed in the 5-4 San Diego win over Mexico City. Peña, who is rated as the 7th best prospect by BNN, went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. José Romero closed the door for San Diego, picking up his 6th save of the year. Mexico City is 9-12 after the loss.
With San Diego trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Peña hit a curveball from Clyde Kelly for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Breakers ahead, 2-1.
After the game, San Diego manager RT Smith applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
