Mexico City Aztecs starter Robert Simons worked his magic, to help his team defeat the San Diego Breakers, 5-1. The winner was Simons. He threw 8.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Ernesto Leal. San Diego, with the loss, is 8-14.
The Aztecs got a big at-bat from right fielder Rob Wright. For the game, Wright went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Mexico City a 2-0 lead.
Mexico City manager Jaime Martinez said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
