Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Reno Silver Sox got the win.

Alfonso Hernández pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Houston Lone Stars, despite Hernández's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Reno Silver Sox at Alamo Park. Reno reliever Gabriel Ordóñez was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Alfonso Hernández took the loss. Leonard Burton collected save number 4.

Reno took a 3-2 lead on Culley Delaney's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run, which Delaney hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Houston pitcher Alfonso Hernández visibly frustrated.

Delaney called the win "an overall solid one."

Reno is now 10-13.
