Pelicans Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
The New Orleans Pelicans faced a tough opponent in Las Vegas pitcher Héctor Peña, but still scratched out a win at Banditos Ballpark by a final score of 5-2 in 12 innings. Peña went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner was New Orleans reliever Adrian Palmer, now 1-0. The loser was Jaime Ruíz. The loss puts Las Vegas at 7-17.

New Orleans used the timely hitting of Billy Bunch to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Pelicans on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Bunch told the New Orleans Daily News.
