The Las Vegas Strip had to reckon with New Orleans Pelicans hurler Ronnie Gordon. Gordon overwhelmed the opposition in the 8-0 Pelicans triumph. Las Vegas is 7-18 after the defeat.

The Pelicans got a big hit from right fielder Joe Sandoval. Facing Las Vegas pitcher Roberto González in the top of the ninth, Sandoval pounded a bases-clearing double to center. His 8th double of the season put the Pelicans ahead, 8-0.

"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Gordon.
