Slumping Strip Lose Again
The Austin Cowboys spoiled a good performance by Las Vegas first baseman Fernando Averado, bumping off Las Vegas, 6-5, at Clark Field. Averado went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. With the win, Austin boosts its record to 14-13.

With one out in the bottom of the fifth, Luis López put Austin in front, 5-3, with a 2-run single. The Cowboys went on to win the ballgame.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," López said.
