Hernández Dominant in Lone Stars Victory
The Houston Lone Stars, behind a great outing from Alfonso Hernández, who finished 4th in the CL in ERA with 2.72 in 2012, defeated the New Orleans Pelicans, 1-0, at Hogg Field. Rubén Rodríguez closed the door for Houston, picking up his 7th save of the year. New Orleans is 14-13 after the loss.

Hernández, who was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, threw 89 pitches over 6.1 innings, while allowing no runs.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Houston skipper Eric Benson. "I can't complain."
