Mexico City Earn 6-2 Victory at Oakland Ball Park
|
Mexico City pitcher Robert Simons did his part in helping his team beat the Oakland Acorns, 6-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The loss makes Oakland 2-1.
Mexico City used a well-timed hit by Júlio Pérez to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Aztecs ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"Robert had himself a pretty good evening," said Mexico City manager Jaime Martinez.
