The Houston Lone Stars faced a tough opponent in Sacramento pitcher Jorge Ayala, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hogg Field by a final score of 7-4. Ayala went 6 innings and allowed no runs. The win brings the Lone Stars to 18-12, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

Houston took a 5-4 lead on Gilberto Lugo's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Lugo hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Sacramento pitcher Luis Rivera visibly frustrated.

"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Lugo said (again).
