The San Diego Breakers could not turn a fine performance from left fielder Pancho Luna into a win. Instead, the Minneapolis Millers prevailed, 7-5, in 14 innings. Luna went 3-7 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Minneapolis reliever Bob Coleman picked up the win, while Richard Tyler took the loss for San Diego. Minneapolis now has a record of 13-19.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Chris Ruhl came to bat in the top of the 14th. Facing San Diego pitcher Richard Tyler, he hit a 1-0 splitter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Minneapolis on top, 6-5.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Ruhl.
