Yetis Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Fireballs
|
The Homer Yetis dealt the Phoenix Fireballs a loss at Pyro Center. The final score was 8-3. Mike Adams was especially productive for Homer. In addition to his 3 singles and 1 triple, he scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Homer pitcher Barry Jennings got the win, upping his record to 4-2. Bu-wei Chen got the loss. Michael Vargas earned the save for Homer.
Homer used a well-timed hit by Dan Koch to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Yetis ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Homer manager Drew Johnson.
Homer has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
