New Orleans Pelicans starter Ronnie Gordon took the mound against the Dallas Eagles at Burnett Field; and, when all was said and done, the right-hander led his team to an extra-inning, 4-3 win. The 5th-place Eagles have lost 7 consecutive games.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Joe Sandoval? The 22-year old right fielder Sandoval stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to put New Orleans up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 6, including 1 double and 2 singles.
Afterward, Dallas manager Cameron J said: "We've hit a rough patch."
