Oakland Ball Park was the site for Pacific Coast League action featuring the Oakland Acorns and San Jose Owls.

The San Jose Owls trumped the Oakland Acorns, 9-5, at Oakland Ball Park. San Jose catcher Derrek Stevens was terrific. He went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The victory gives the Owls a record of 20-17.

San Jose needed the clutch hitting of Phil Benson to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Owls on top, 3-2. For the game, Benson had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"We maximized our offense today," said San Jose skipper Sean Hogan. "That makes everyone's life easier."
