Beavers Bats Go Cold Against Stars
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Portland Beavers take on the Hollywood Stars.
Cris Machado, who finished 4th in the CL in wins with 17 in 2013, imposed his will on the Beavers from the get-go. Relying mainly on his cutter, the left-hander spearheaded the 5-0 Hollywood triumph. Hollywood, with the win, is 3-1.
Machado allowed no runs on 3 hits over 7.2 innings for Hollywood. With the win, the southpaw is 1-0 with an ERA of 0.00.
"When Cris is on, he can really move the ball around," said Hollywood manager Scott B.
