Ironhorse Handle Aztecs, Grab 2-0 Win
|
The Sacramento Ironhorse downed the Mexico City Aztecs, 2-0, at Ironhorse Stadium. Starring for Sacramento was pitcher Dave Sackett. David Williams closed it out for his 9th save. Sacramento is now 27-20.
The Ironhorse got a big at-bat from right fielder Alan Maitland. For the game, Maitland went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Sacramento a 2-0 lead.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Jaime Martinez. "That was the problem."
