Fireballs Get Extra-Inning, 3-2 Win
|
Dallas got a terrific game from right fielder Eric Ford. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Phoenix, 3-2, in 10 innings. Ford slugged 2 home runs. Dan Conway, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-4. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. The victory gives Phoenix a record of 30-21.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Weon Mae? The 27-year old first baseman Mae stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Phoenix up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Mae said.
