Mexico City Tumbles Again, Falls, 5-2, to Hollywood
|
The Hollywood Stars topped the Mexico City Aztecs, 5-2, in Pacific Coast League action at Gilmore Field. The standout performance belonged to Hollywood pitcher and Hanover, Pennsylvania, native Cris Machado. Machado, now 7-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The first-place Stars have won 4 in a row.
Making an impact for the home team was Roy Hopkins. In the bottom of the second, the 33-year old first baseman had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 3-1, Stars.
"Being in first place now is good," said Hopkins. "Being in first at the end of the season is better. That's our goal."
