San Francisco Seals starter Alex Dávila hurled his team past the San Diego Breakers, 4-2. Shawn Meyer recorded the save, his 4th. The Seals move to 24-28 with the win, while the Breakers drop to 23-30.

Manny Cantú had a big 2-run double for the Seals in the bottom of the second inning. With San Francisco leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Bobby McCarthy, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2002 draft, and swatted a double to center. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Seals ahead, 3-0.

"It's better to burn out than to rust," said the ageless Dávila.
