Oakland Hot Streak Continues with 5-1 Win
|
Oakland got a strong outing from Arturo Escobedo as the Acorns defeated the Sacramento Ironhorse, 5-1, at Ironhorse Stadium. Escobedo, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Oakland has run its win streak to 8 straight.
Oakland second baseman Salvador Colón contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 57th hit of the season and put the Acorns ahead, 2-0.
