Millers Get 9-3 Win Versus Phoenix
Good production from second baseman Chris Valadez helped the Minneapolis Millers topple the Phoenix Fireballs, 9-3. Valadez was 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Millers. The Millers improved their record to 23-31 with the win over Phoenix.

Jorge Bruno had a big run-scoring double for the Millers in the top of the third inning. With Minneapolis leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Bu-wei Chen, who is a two-time All-Star, and swatted a double to left. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Millers ahead, 3-1.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Bruno told the Minneapolis News. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
