Austin got a terrific game from shortstop Jimmy Rodríguez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Dallas, 5-3. Rodríguez was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Cecil Rivera was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. Fred Davis was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 14 save opportunities.

Dallas used a clutch at-bat from Greg van Rossum to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," van Rossum told the Dallas Daily.

The victory puts Dallas at 25-40.
