At Multnomah Stadium, the Portland Beavers and San Jose Owls were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The San Jose Owls handed the Portland Beavers a sound defeat, 13-1, at Multnomah Stadium. Tommy Booth, who led the CL in hits with 219 last year, was a main contributor to the win. He was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for San Jose. Mike Stewart, the winner, improved to 3-5. He held the Beavers to 1 run on 3 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 1.

San Jose used the hitting of Derrek Stevens to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Owls on top, 3-1. For the game, Stevens had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

Said Portland manager Pete Donut about the blowout loss: "I feel like I've been at the dentist since two o'clock or whatever."
