The Los Angeles Angels and Sacramento Ironhorse riveted fans at Ironhorse Stadium.
Sacramento starter Dave Sackett put a stranglehold on the Los Angeles offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Ironhorse to a 7-1 win. Sackett, now 7-3, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 1 run.
With the game tied, 1-1, in the bottom of the fifth, Sackett had a key at-bat for Sacramento. With the bases loaded, Sackett hit a run-scoring single off José Fuentes, making the score 2-1, Ironhorse.
"I was able to really locate my pitches tonight," said Sackett.
With the win, Sacramento raised its record to 34-32.
