García Blasts Lone Stars, Grizzlies Take Game 3, 8-3
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of center fielder Carlos García, the Denver Grizzlies got a road win against the Houston Lone Stars, 8-3, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series. García hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for the Grizzlies, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.
Denver used the timely hitting of José Hernández to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Grizzlies on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," García told the Denver News.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hogg Field in Houston.
