Hodge Blasts Stars, Beavers Take Game 4, 6-4
|
The Portland Beavers defeated the Hollywood Stars, 6-4, in Game 4 of the League Championship Series. Making an impact was first baseman Mike Hodge, who was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win moves Portland into a 2-2 tie with Hollywood in the series.
In the bottom of the second, Portland second baseman David Barton had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Barton stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-0, Portland. For the game, he went 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"What we get, we earn," Barton told the Portland Daily News.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Multnomah Stadium in Portland.
