Mexico City second baseman Carlos Paredes contributed significantly to his team's 9-7 win over the Hollywood Stars. Paredes, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2010 draft, went 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Aztecs. Robert Simons, the winner, improved to 2-0. He held the Stars to 5 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Alfredo García was credited with the save for Mexico City, his 2nd of the season.

With Mexico City leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Paredes hit a curveball from Jaime Porcayo for a 2-run double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Aztecs ahead, 3-0.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Paredes.

Hollywood is 4-4 after the loss.
