Ports Trade Cardenas to Strip for Nolan Monday, April 13th , 2015 Reports have surfaced that Long Beach has agreed to send 22-year old CF Vance Jones, 21-year old minor league LHP Garry Spencer, 19-year old minor league LHP Francisco Cardenas, a 2nd round draft pick, a 4th round draft pick, and a 1st round draft pick to the Las Vegas Strip in exchange for 35-year old CF Steven Nolan, a 1st round draft pick, and $20,000,000 in cash. "It's a done deal," said one executive speaking on the condition of anonymity. "I'm surprised word got around so quickly. We just signed off on this an hour ago." The deal apparently is awaiting physicals before an official announcement is made by either team. This year, Nolan is batting .375 with 9 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 4 times and has batted in 6 runs. |
