Ball Tags Ports for 6 Hits
Wednesday, April 22nd , 2015
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 6-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Matt Ball, it came around today.
The 36-year-old third baseman scattered hits all over Tapatio Park to pace the 8-6 San Bernardino Stallions victory over the Long Beach Ports.
Long Beach skipper Jordan K told reporters in the press room that "Ball deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Ball hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Matt Ball singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far this year, Ball is batting .367 with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
