Alvarado Batters Los Angeles for 5 Hits
Sunday, April 26th , 2015
José Alvarado put on a hitting clinic as the Mexico City Aztecs dumped the Los Angeles Angels, 6-4, at Wrigley Field.
The Mexico City first baseman made Los Angeles defenders earn their pay, lashing Los Angeles pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Alvarado said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
José Alvarado singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
This season in 17 games, Alvarado is batting .305 with 2 home runs, 6 RBIs and has scored 8 times.
