Gloves Found, Black Rejoices Friday, September 11th , 2015 A while back we brought you the story of the poor Long Beach Ports's second baseman who was honestly devastated by the loss of his lucky college batting gloves. Today, the gloves suddenly turned up in the strangest of places. Said teammate, Rob Knight, "I found them in my underwear drawer...seriously. As soon as I found them, I got them back to Cory. I didn't even ask for a finder's fee and besides, I couldn't wait to get rid of them - they really stank." No details on how the gloves got in Knight's underwear drawer and perhaps that is for the best. For his part, Cory Black was ecstatic. Telling the Long Beach Chronicle, "I put them on right away - it felt so good to have them back. I can't wait to get back out there and face pitching again with these on." |
