Vega Must Sit Out 3 Games Thursday, June 30th , 2016 Long Beach right fielder Eduardo Vega was ejected in the game between the Ports and Aztecs for letting loose a profanity-laced tirade against the home plate umpire after some calls didn't go the way he wanted. Vega was just as incensed after the game. "These guys are a joke. How can people expect to take this game seriously when you have games like this?" Vega said in the locker room after the game. Now Vega must face the consequences of this actions. League officials released this brief statement to the media: "We are regretful that Vega has taken this to the level that it has reached. The league will not tolerate this type of conduct. Due to his actions during and after the game, the league is suspending him for 3 games." Vega is batting at a .224 pace this season, picking up 39 hits in 174 at-bats with 7 home runs, 28 RBIs and 22 runs scored. |
