Martínez in Command, No-Hits Oranges
Friday, April 10th , 2015
It was a fantastic day for Riverside Firebolts starter Lorenzo Martínez and a lousy day for the Ventura Oranges.
The Riverside hurler's pitching artistry completely befuddled and bewildered the Oranges, as the Firebolts cruised to a 6-0 win. When it was all over, Martínez was credited with one of the rarer feats in baseball -- a no-hitter.
"The ball was moving and darting, and best of all, going where I wanted it to go," Martínez said later.
He rang up 16 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk while shutting Ventura down at Firebolts Ballpark.
