Riverside Beats Tacoma as Wood Throws 1-0 Shutout Sunday, April 12th , 2015 The Riverside Firebolts did little to support starter Chris Wood against the Tacoma Thunderbirds, but it turned out he didn't need the help. The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Thunderbirds, striking out 12 and surrendering 1 hit. The performance from Wood allowed Riverside to escape with the 1-0 win, despite an anemic offense. "Nobody came to me and said, 'Chris, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Wood told BNN reporters following the win.
