Pérez Shuts Out Monks Monday, May 25th , 2015 The bats were ice cold for the Vancouver Monks at Ballpark of Des Moines. Santa Barbara Foresters starter Fernando Pérez kept the Monks cold all day, shutting them out, 8-0. In a fine outing, the 22-year-old hurler allowed 5 hits while striking out 8 and walking 3. "I'm not quite sure what was different today," Pérez admitted later. "I didn't feel like I was doing anything differently, but the results speak for themselves."
