Ervin Gets Award for Relief Work

At the young age of only 23, Mark Ervin has been named the Pacific AAA Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2006.

The future appears bright for the Butte Miners relief ace, who captured the award with 23 saves in 67 relief appearances, 159 strikeouts in 105.1 innings and a record of 5-4 to go with his 1.97 ERA.

He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jim Lynch of the Butte Miners finished second in voting, while José Vallés of the Hilo Islanders finished third.
