Pacheco Hurls No-Hitter
Sunday, May 10th , 2015
The Casa Grande Cotton Kings were just hoping for a solid outing from Arturo Pacheco. Instead, they got something special.
The 23-year-old hurler tossed a no-hitter against the Pearl City Divers, helping the Cotton Kings take the 2-0 win.
"I felt good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Cotton Kings. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I wasn't nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special."
Pacheco's repertoire has a fastball, sinker, and changeup, and he used it all to full advantage, keeping the Pearl City hitters off balance all game long. The Casa Grande hurler fanned 12 and walked 1 in his history-making performance.
"His fastball looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed," Pearl City manager joked after the game.
In 7 starts this season, Pacheco has registered a 4-2 record and a 1.74 ERA.
