Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Aztecs
The Mexico City Aztecs beat the Long Beach Ports, 8-5, at Estadio Tenochtitlan. Carlos Paredes went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs. The 24-year old first baseman was a menace to Long Beach all day. The Ports drop to 5-5 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2016 season.

Had Pedro Liñares not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Liñares hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Aztecs.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Paredes.
