Long Beach left-hander Johnny Clayton pitched his team to victory over the Mexico City Aztecs at Estadio Tenochtitlan. The final score was 10-2. With the win, Long Beach lifts its record to 6-5.

Bob O'Neal had a big 2-run double for the Ports in the top of the fourth inning. With Long Beach leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from James Thomas, who finished 5th in the CL in strikeouts with 260 in 2004, and swatted a double to right. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ports ahead, 5-1.

Mexico City manager Jaime Martinez called the blowout loss "a real stinker."
